Edinburgh 5 Mar 1694

In presence of the Erle of Casillis one of Lors [Lords] of Thery [Thesaury] Compeired John Mcur subcollector of the hearth money within the shire of Lenrick alias ClidesDaill who being sworne and examined Declaired that the forsaid List of hearthes Extending to Fifteen Thousand three Hundreth and Fiftie ane qch [quhich] are payed and Eight Hundreth and seventie qch [quhich] are unpayed Is ane treu & Just List of all the hearthes of the forsaid parochins To the best of his knouledge Excepting tuo Thousand nyne hundreth and sixtie nyne poor and that he hes vsed his outmost indevour Conform to the proclamanes [proclamationes] of Councill annent the ingathering of the hearth money to attaine to the knouledge of all the hearthes of the saids parochins And that he hes not willinglie nor wittinglie concealled any But given vp the samen trulie as said is And this is the truith as he shall ansr [answer] to God
