A Survey of the FEMALE SERVANTS TAX. in the ShIre of Selkirk
from the 5 of Aprile 1786 to the 5 of Aprile 1787

I William Brunton Surveyor doe hereby Certify that upon carefull examination of the
Several Rates and dutys aforesaid I find they Amount in whole to the Sum of Four
Pound five Shillings Ster. [Sterling] And that upon the 25 day of Sepr. [September] I delivered to
John Scott Collector of Said dutys for the Shire aforesaid an exact
Duplicate of the above Accounts examined and compared with the foregoing which
contained my Oath that Requisitions were left with the Several persons or at their dwelling
houses that they are lyable in the Sums Set Against their Several Names.
