Elgin from the 5th April 1790 to the 5th April 1791 By Patrick Mcdonald Suryr [Surveyor]

Prooff 4 Publick Carriages @ £7.0.0 each is £28.0.0

I Patrick Mcdonald Surveyor do hereby Certify that Upon Careful examination of the
forgoing Rates and duties on Wheel Carriages I find they Amount in whole to twenty
Eight pound Sterling and that Upon the fourth Jany [January] I delivered to James Duffas
Collr [Collector] of Said duties in the Town of Elgin an exact duplicate of the above acct [account] examined
and Compared with the forgoing which Contain'd My Oath that the Several
Inhabitants were duly Served with Requisitions and the Assessment made up
from the lists And Answers Now in My Possession
