In the Burgh of Stranraer from the 5th April 1788 to the 5th April 1789 by Anthony Macmillan Surveyor I Anthony Macmillan Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon carefull examination of the foregoing Several rates and duties I find they amount in whole to be Fourteen Pounds Stg. [Sterling] and that upon the -- day of Novr. [November] one thousand seven hundred eighty eight I delivered to Mr. James McDowall Collector of the said duties for the Burgh aforesaid an exact Duplicate of the foregoing which contained my oath that a Requisition was left with the said Person at his dwelling house [ ] & to him of the date annexed to his name [that ] he was to be [charged] with the duty hereby certified to be due from him.
