E326/8/1/6 6 I Hugh Richmond Surveyor aforesaid, do hereby certify, that upon carefull examination of the foregoing Severall Rates Duties I find they amount in whole to Three hundred Seventeen pounds twelve Shillings & Six pence and that upon the Nineteenth day of December last I caused deliver to John Durno Adt. [Advocate] Collector of these Duties for the Shire aforesaid Exact Duplicate of the above Account duly Examine & compared with the foregoing; And I do make oath that the above is a just List returned by the Severall Inhabitants when Requisition were made of the duties aforesaid by Hugh Richmond Surveyer

E326/8/1/10 I Duncan Mac Nuier surveyor within mentioned Do hereby Certify That upon Careful Examination of the within several rates and Duties I find they amount in whole to the sum of Seventy Pounds, Seventeen shillings and Six pence Sterling, and that upon the thirteenth day of March Jaivij [seventeen hundred] and eighty six I Delivered to Peter Warthur Depute to Donald Campbell Esq. Principal Collector of the said Duties for the Shire within mentioned in absence of the [-] Donald Campbell an Exact Duplicate of the within accompt duely examined and Compared with the foregoing which Contained my Oath that Int[--] were given to the whole persons within mentioned or left at their Dwelling houses of the respective Dates aforesaid, and that the foregoing Survey or Assessment was made up from the Returns made to me in Consequence thereof and from the best Information I could otherwise obtain. -- Duncan 'Mac' Nuier Survey Wheel Carriage Tax Argyllshire

[Sterling] and that upon the 17 of March 1786 I transmitted to Robert Colquhoun Coller. [Collector] of said duties for Shire aforesaid an Exact Duplicate of the above Acct. [Account] duly Examined and Compared with the forgoing which Containd my Oath that requisitions were left with the Several Inhabitants or at there Dwelling houses, of the date anex'd [annexed] to their respective names, and that their assesments were made from the answers sent me and now in my possesion. E326/8/1/68 [Page] 68 I William Greig, Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon carefull examination of the forgoing duties I find They amount in whole to Sixty Five Pounds Twelve Shillings & Sixpence Sterling and that upon the - day of --1786 I delivered Alexander Garden Esq Collector of the said duties for the Shire ~ aforesaid exact duplicate of the above account as will appear from duley examined and compared with the foregoing, which contained My Oath [that] Nottices were left withe the several persons before named or at their dwelling [Houses] of the dates annexed to there respective Names requiring them within fourteen [days] To give in a list of their Carriages retained or employed from the fifth day of July to the fifth day of April 1785. and that the said account or Survey is made out from [the] lists returned to me, and from the best information I could procure of the [?] of those who neglected or refused to give in a list therof in terms of the nottices left with them as aforesaid William Greig Surveyor

[General Surveyor] I James Allan Surveyor aforesaid, do hereby certify, that upon [careful] Examination of the foregoing several Rates & duties find they Amount [in] whole to One Hundred & Sixty two pounds fifteen shillings Sterg [Sterling] and that upon the 1st Current I delivered to Mr Thomas Wingate Collector of the said duty for the County Aforesaid an exact duplicate of the Above Accounts duly examined and Compared with the foregoing which contained my Oath that Notices were left with the several Inhabitants or at their dwelling houses & that they are Chargeable with the sums hereby certified to be due from them Alloa 6 March 1786 James Allan Surveyor
