the W. [West] and the inner end of the passage
3'.1" in width has been exposed for a short
distance. The diameter of the broch over all
has been some 60' & the thickness of the wall
12' - 13'. The greatest elevation of the mound
containing the ruins is about 8'. Towards
the E. [East] at the edge of the rock are the
remains of an outer breastwork, which has
strengthened the position on the easy gradient
at this end of the rocky ridge. On the W. [West] in
front of the entrance ridges on the turf
indicate the existence of outbuildings
and to the NW. [North West] two or three large slabs
set on end protrude from 1' to 2 1/2'
above the ground.
The two standing stones indicated on the
O.S. [Ordnance Survey] map seem to have been removed.

Broch. Rumster. (72)
About 1 1/4 m. [miles] N. [North] of Forse House and some
200 yds. [yards] W. by S. [West by South] of Rumster Farm a grassy
hillock rises from the side of a field con:
:taining the ruins of a broch. In one or
two places the wall face is exposed.
The diameter over all is 52' and the
greatest elevation 9'.

Broch Gulsary (14)
Some 80 yds. [yards] SW. [South West] of the croft of Gulsary
rises a conical grassy mound containing
