The first pair are 2'.6" apart and are from
2'.6" to 3' in breadth: the second pair parallel
& 4' in rear of the former are 2' apart. At
5' in rear of the latter pair a slab 4'.6" in
breadth appears to mark the back of the
chamber. None of these slabs are more
than 18" above the debris. Close in front
of the back slab a large stone 3'.9" in height
2'.6" in width stands upright but does not
seem to be a part of the original structure.
The sides of the chambers are not recognisable.
The cairn appears to have been round
but its diameter is not now ascertainable
without excavation.
This was a long & hard day's work
in rather a sultry atmosphere. I
stopped at the Latheronwheel Hotel for tea
about 6.0 as rain began to fall. The
hotel did not seem so clean & fresh as the
Portland Arms at Lybster.

29th July 1910. Broch "Appnag Tulloch" Forse (15)
On the summit of an outcropping rock
rising from a meadow about 1/2 m. [mile] due N. [North]
of Forse House are the ruins of a broch
known as the "Appnag Tulloch". Except
where exposed by some recent excavation
the ruins are entirely overgrown with grass.
