into the Water of Dunbeath are some 8 or 9
stony mounds, varying in diameter from 15' - 26' and
the highest having an elevation of about 4'. They
situated for the most part on the lower side
of the road. There are no distinct remains of
hut circles among them.

Cairn Dunbeath (unnoted)
Some 200 yds [yards] E [East] of the gamekeeper's house on
the road from Dunbeath to Loedebost is a
small cairn overgrown with heather. It
measures about 33' in diameter and 2' in
elevation. To the SE. [South East] of it lie one or two
small stony mounds.

Long horned Cairn Loedebost O.S. [Ordnance Survey] Picts Ho. [House] (38)
Situated on the moor some 250 - 300 yds. [yards] E. by S. [East by South]
of the Shepherd's House at Leodebost are
the remains of a Horned long cairn known
as "Carn Liath." The cairn is much di:
:lapidated and the chamber ruined but there
is no evidence of its having been excavated.
It lies with its major axis WSW. and ENE [West South West and East North East]
rising in elevation and expanding in width
towards the latter direction. At the WSW. [West South West]
extremity it is 28' in breadth and now of trifling
elevation while at the opposite end it is about
40' in breadth and 5' in elevation. The
extreme length including the horns is 165'.
