About 100 yds [yards] to the NW. [North West] of the last, another
large upright block stands to a height of 7'
above ground. It faces NNW and SSE [North North West and South South East]
and measures across the face 4'.3" & 4'.10"
respectively and is some 2'.10" in thickness. It
is not pointed. From top to bottom it
has been badly split.

Standing Stone Crask Latheron.
On the ridge known as the Crask about 1/4
m. [mile] NE [North East] of Buldoo, Latheron is another
standing stone. It is a flat whinstone slab
6'.3" high, 1'.2" across & 5" thick set into a
block of sandstone about 1' high x about
2' in diameter. It faces NNW and SSE. [North North West and South South East].

[Margin] ?A rubbing stone!

There are no markings on it of antiquity
and it has not the appearance of a pre:
:historic memorial.
None of these stones now bear any
particular name.

Latheron Church
In rear of Latheron Church is a burial
Aisle of the Sinclairs of Dunbeath. Built
into the wall is a ?18th cent. [century] monument
bearing a much effaced Latin inscription.
There are no stones of any interest visible
in the churchyard. I was shocked
at the methods of the gravedigger here.
A grave had just been dug to its full
