area with its longest axis SE and NW [South East and North West] enclosed
by a wall or bank some 5' - 6' in thickness, measur:
:ing interiorly 29' x 26', and entered from the
outside at the NW. [North West]. On the left of this entrance
is a small cairn-like mound formed of
large stones measuring 20' in diameter and
some 3'.6" in elevation. Placed alongside
this enclosure on the E [East] and with a common
wall, is an oblong enclosure whose outer
wall curves round at the N. [North] so as to
meet the cairn on its side opposite the
entrance to the circle. This oblong
enclosure is some 48' in length by 14' in breadth and
seems to have been divided into two by a
cross wall at 28' from the S.W. [South West] end.
This latter portion has contained a gallery
along each side formed by upright stone
pillars some 5' - 6' apart, & 4'.6" distant from the
side walls. One pointed slab 7'.6" in length
laid from the top of the common wall to
one of the pillars, remains in situ. The
end of this chamber has been concave. There
have been three pillars along each side
and that supporting the existing slab is 3'.8"
in height above the present ground level.
This oblong enclosure appears to have
