of Broughwhin. Its extreme length to the
points of the horns was about 80', its extreme
breadth some 60' The horns project about
20' in front and about 15' behind. The direction
of the chamber is N & S [North and South]. (see Dr. A's [Doctor Anderson's] description)
The passage is now entirely broken down and
the sides of the chamber in great measure fallen
filling the interior with debris. The sides of the
chambers are built the only very large upright
slabs being the division stones. Slabs were
noted by Dr. [Docotr] Anderson in the sides of the back
chamber. but are not now visible. A number of relics were found on
excavation.

Cairn & Stone Rows.
At the S. [South] end of the ridge that lies between
Groats Loch and Broughwhin is a cairn
which has been excavated with a diameter
of about 18'. In the centre a cist has been
exposed lying E. and W. [East and West] measuring 3'.9"
in length, 2'.4" in width and 1'.8" in depth.
From the cairn four rows of stones have
radiated in direction approximately NE to SW. [North East to South West].
Only some 6 or 7 stones remain. The furthest
distant from the cairn is 110' away. The
stones are thin slabs, set with their broad
faces looking across the rows, projecting
not more than 2ft. [feet] above ground.
