[Opposite page - Sketch and text inserted] Rough Sketch plan.

dug into on the E. [East]. There are surface
indications of considerable outbuildings on all sides
except the N. [North].

"Picts Ho" [House] (74)
On the lower slope of the hill about 1/2 m. [mile]
W. by S. [West by South] of Forse House are the ruins of a
very large galleried construction.
In the present state of dilapidation the plan
is difficult to determine but it appears
to have consisted of four oblong enclosures in two pairs
conjoined at one end with another chamber thrust
in between them at the other. (The whole
galleries measure in dia. [diameter] from E. to W. [East to West]
about 120'.) The Southmost pair are built
with their longest axes NW and SE [North West and South East] entering
from the latter direction and the Northmost
pair, slightly diverging, have their longest
axes WSW. and ENE. [West South West and East North East] entering from ENE. [East North East].
The form of the chamber occupying the angle between the
two pairs is too ruined to define.
The Southmost pair are each interiorly 48'
in length and 15' in width near the centre
slightly expanding towards the inner end.
The ends are as usual rounded. At 28'
from the SE. [South East] extremities they are con:
:nected by a passage through the dividing
wall 3'.7" wide and 7' in length.
