went in to lunch with Col. [Colonel] & Mrs. Baird. In
the afternoon the former came with me &
helped me in a thick fog to find my way
about.

Dovecot Forse Ho. [House]
Standing in the park to the W. [West] of Forse House
is an old doo'cot with a lean-to roof and
crow stepped gables. It is divided with divisions
with separate doors and openings in the
roof for the pigeons. The back wall is some
24' to 26' in height. There are three narrow
ledges for the pigeons passing along the back wall
stepped on the sides & reduced to
one on the front. The gables are surmounted
with spherical finials and from the centre
of the top of the back wall rises a thistle
supporting a weather vane. The length
of the building is 28'.8" & its breadth 16'.

Broch Ushilly Tulloch (29)
About 1/3 m. [mile] W. by N. [West by North] of Forse House on a
low outcropping rock overgrown with grass
are the remains of a broch bearing the
name of "Ushilly Tulloch". Many large
stones lie exposed over the surface.
The face of the wall is not well defined
but the diameter over all appears to be
about 64'. The elevation is from 6' to 8'.
The ruin at some remote time has been
