007 [Situation] North of parish on Craigmoddie Fell
A tomb erected to the morning of one of the Covenanters who Suffered in 1685. Upon it is the following inscription. Here lies the body of Alexander Linn who was surprised and instantly shot to death by Lt. [Lieutenant] Colonel Drummond for his adherence to Scotlands reformation Covenants National and Solemn league 1685. Renewed 1827 in Consequence of a Sermon preached on this spot by the Revd. [Reverend] William Symington of Stranraer. " Contend for the faith &c.
