001 This is a large Substantial Stone building from one to two Storeys high, Slated and in very good repair.
It was built about 5 years ago for the Poor of the following eight Parishes Viz Parish of Nairn 20 Shares or Paupers PH [Parish] Petty 10 Shares or 10 Paupers Ph [Parish] Cawdor 9 Ph [Parish] Auldearn 8 Ph. [Parish] EdinKillie 8 Ph. [Parish] Ardclach 7 Ph [Parish] Croy 7 and Ph [Parish] Ardersier 6 Shares in all 75 Shares or as many Paupers
It can accomodate as many as a 100 paupers. "The Nairn Union Board" Consists of 11 Members three are appointed by the Parochial Board of the Ph [Parish] of Nairn two by the Parochial Board of the Ph [Parish] of Petty and one by each of Six remaining Parishes
In case any other Parish wishing to join the Combination the Board are at liberty to receive it on the same conditions that they themselves entered on viz in proportion to the Shares.
