John Morrison A. A. Carmichael Esq J. Macdonald Esq Factor 030 Is applied to a small green Knoll situate 18 chains south-west from Grenitote. From the nature of the ground surrounding the Knoll it appears to have been surrounded by water. It is the site of ancient works and resembles the hilloch on which the "Duns" in this country are built on. A number of years ago, a cottar discovered chambers made of flags [slabs or flat stones] in the Knoll when removing stones for building purposes. Nothing of the kind can be traced now. No English meaning could be ascertained for the name.
