029 | Above high water mark and adjacent to the same half a mile north west from the hamlet of Balmartin in the face of a sand bank formed by the sea there appears to have been ancient works, there are, however, no trace of them at the present day, except that pieces of earthernware vessels have been picked up from time to time and are still be found in the bank. From the position of two or three stones in the bank one might suppose there had been a building, but the place has been evidently covered to a considerable height with sand. |
