001 ; 002 ; 004 ; 005 This name applies to a rugged Island Situated near the western extremity of North Harris & in part of that Ph. [Parish] There are 25, families living on this island 16 of whom have the lands of Scarp and some small islands adjacent to, rented from Mr Scott. The houses which these islanders occupy are all situated at the south eastern extremity of Island and are all one storey in height, thatched, and in (as far as outward appearance goes) a miserable condition to be occupied by human beings. A ladies association School has been in existance for some time on island. Population about 120. proptr., [proprietor] E. H. Scott, 27 Grosvenor Square, London.
