This name is given to the most southern of the group of Long Islands and is sometimes known as Barra Head. It is a small island, in the parish of Barra, and about 10 miles to the South of the island of Barra. A portion of it is cultivated and divided between three crofters. It is only at one or two places on its Northern side that a landing can be effected, as it is almost entirely bounded by perpendicular cliffs, which in some places rise to the height of 600 feet.In the Centre of the Island there is a fine Chalybeate well.
