117Survey of the Shop Tax in the Burgh of Wigtown
from the 5th of April 1787 to 5th April 1788 by Anthony Macmillan Surveyor.
Proof £11.0.0 of valued rent at 4d P £ [£0.0.4 per Pound] is £0.3.8
I Anthony Macmillan Surveyor aforesaid do hereby certify that upon careful examination
of the foregoing several Rates and Duties I find they amount to the sum of three
shillings eight pence Sterling, and that upon the Seventh day of January
one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight I delivered to Mr John McKanly Collector
of the said Duties for the Burgh aforesaid an exact Duplicate of the foregoing
which contained my oath that notices were left with the several foregoing Inhabitants
or delivered to them of the date annexed to their respective names that they were
to be charged with the Sums hereby certified to be due from them.
