111Survey of the Shop Tax in the Burgh of
Selkirk from the 5th April 1787 to the 5th April 1788 by William Brunton Surveyor
I William Brunton Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that
upon Careful Examination of the foregoing several Duties I find they Amount
to Five Shill. [Shillings] Sterling and that upon the 5th of November I Delivered to
John Lang Collector of said duties for the Burgh aforesaid an exact
Duplicate of the above duly examined and Compared with the foregoing
which Contained my Oath that the Notices were left with the foregoing
Inhabitants that they were to be Charged with the Sums
Sett against their Several Names
