Selkirk 17th November 1786
I James Veitch Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon
Carefull examination of the foregoing Several rates and Duties I
find they amount in whole to the sum of twenty pounds
thirteen shillings and four pence Sterling and that upon the
17th Currt. [Current] I transmitted to Robert Blair Collr. [Collector] said Duties for
the Shire aforesaid an exact Duplicate of the above acct. [account] Duly
examined and Compared with the foregoing which Contained [my]
Oath that notices were left with the Several Inhabitants or at their
Dwelling Houses of the dates annexed to their Respective
names that they were to be Charged with the sums hereby
Certified to be due from them John Veitch junr. [Junior] Surveyor
