[continued from page 13]
tho' I have enumerated the names of the several properties
belonging to them. Of late too the Duke of Queensberry
has disposed of his Lands of Easter Happrew
in Stobo Parish to yourself and the Earl of Traquair
has sold his Lands of Ormiston in Innerelithen
Parish to Mr. John Scott Writer to the Signet but owing
to the erroneous Calculations in the Schemes of
Division before attested to, I was obliged to omit
specifying the valuation of these two properties
seperately.
In the Parish of Linton I understand too, that Mr. Chatto
has disposed of part of his Lands to the late Mr.
Robert Renton writer in Edinr [Edinburgh] Mr. Alexander Goldie
Writer to the Signet and a Mr. William Gordon but [alas]
I could not learn what particular parts of this
Estate were sold, nor no application made to the
Commissioners to have then divided - I have stated
the whole as still the property of Mr. Chatto.
The Parishes of Dawick and Kailzie are long since
suppressed - tho' I have taken them in seperately in
the Book now sent as they stand in the former Rolls
however for your Satisfaction. I beg leave to state
that the Lands in Dawick Parish were
annexed to Drummelzier and Stobo and those of
the Parish of Kailzie to Traquair and Innerleithen,
of course the valuation of these Parishes
will stand as follows viz.
