5 Jun 1764. The Eighty Five Merk and Half Merkland of Sppringkell, Reidkirk's Lands, Forty Shillingland of Sarkshiels, Half Morton, Logan, and these formerly called Reidkirk, stood valued in cumulo at 4000 merks, and by decree of the Commissioners of this date, they were divided as under :--
The Barony or Twenty Poundland of Kirkconnell, comprehending the Lands following, viz., Birronlees, Gowkhall, Lavrickhall, Drowncow, and Craigshaws, Caldronlee, Gair, Blackcleuch, Branteth, Berklieshead, Howgillside, Davinswalls, Sarkshiels, Southside, Cairnhill, Burnfoot, Kirkconnell Mains, and Kirconnell Miln, holden of the Crown at, 1693.0.0
The Lands and Barony of Springkell and Half Morton, comprehending the particular Lands after mentioned, viz., Raeburnfoot, Milikinsbuss, Cowgarth, and Gowdieslees, Aitchison's-bank, Westgillsyke, Newtown, Barrowslacks, Hazlebank, Megshill, Quintinshill, Wattshill, and Buttertown, in the Barony of Springkell. And the Lands of Bogra, Dikeside, Waughslee, Timpan, and Timpanheck, Cadgilllfoot, Greenware, Cowholm, and Milltown, Wattsman, Campenholm, Cadgillhead, Cadgillside, Oakwoodhill, Hillhead, Chartersburn,
