We John Young of Gulyhill William Copland of Colliestoun two of the Commisioners of Supplie for the Shire of Dumfries Comprehending the Stuartry of Annandale and Five Kirks of Eskdale and John Goldie of Craigmuie Clerk to the said Commissioners and Keeper of the Valuation Book of the said Shire Do herbey Attest and Declare That the preceeding Thirty two pages of this Book Contains a just and true Copie of the Valuation Book of the said Shire And That the Lands therein mentioned pay Supplie and bear Publick burdens according to the Severall Valuations therein Specified The Valuation of the said Shire Comprehending as aforesaid extending in whole to Two Hundred and Thirty eight Thousand Merks and Ten Shillings Scots In Witness whereof the said John Goldie has Subscribed each of the forgoing Thirty two pages and we the said John Young and William Copland and John Goldie have Subscribed these presents Att Drumfries the Twenty fifth day of January one Thousand and Seven hundred and thirty Nine years Before these witnesses Robert Fergusson Mercht [Merchant] in Dumfries and Robert Jardine writer in Dumfries & writer hereof
