Memorandum
That I Sir John Jardine of Aplegorth having applyed
to the Commissioers of Supplie Shewing That the
Nine Merk land of Sibblebie purchased by him from
the late Marquiss of Annandale having been valued
in Cumulo with the Marquiss's other Estate hade
Since his purchase been in use to pay their Supply
to the parish Collector conform to the valuation
of Six hundred and Sixty five merks as appeared by
ane Attestation thereof under the hand of George Johnston
Collector for the parish of Siblebie and which was also
agreed to and known to be the true valuation by the
Marquiss's Factor Mr John Henderson one of the said
Commissioners and that great inconveniencies did yearly
and termly ensue by the Cess of this said Nine merk land of
Siblebie being otherwise paid than that of his other Estate
and that it was absolutly necessary that the same should
be disjoined from the Marquiss's valuation in Cumulo,
and Annexed to his other Estate of Aplegirth in time
coming & the Cess paid therewith Accordingly, which
Petition attestation under the hand of George Johnston,
Collector of Supply for the parish of Siblebie and Declaration,
on the back thereof subscribed by Mr John Henderson
Chamberlain to the present Marquiss of annandale
bearing that the Nine Merk land of Siblebie purchased by
the petitioner Sir John Jardine from the late Marquiss
of Annandale are valued to Six hundred and Sixty five
Merks and that the Land tax has been in use to be paid according
to that Rule Haveing been Considered by the said Com:
missioners of Supply They by their Deliverance dated the
twenty Sixth of May [jaivijC] and thirty Seven Found the
Desire of the said petition reasonable and ordained the
Collector of Supply to Subtract the said valuation of Six
Hundred and Sixty five merks from the Marquiss of
Annandales valuation in the Shire of Dumfries and
Stuartry of Annandale and to add the same to the
petitioners and to receive the supply of the said Nine
Merk land of Siblebie along with the Supply of the petitioners
other lands in all time coming and ordained the said petition
and Deliverance to be Insert in their sederunt Book
and ane Extract thereof Delivered to the Collector
John Goldie.
