E326/9/3/61 [Page] 61 FORFAR 22 A survey of the Dutie on Carriage & Riding Horses arisen in the Burgh of Forfar for [the] half Year from 10th October 1784 to the 5th April 1785 by William Greig Surveyor I William Greig Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon carefull examination of the forgoing Duties I find they amount in whole to Three Pounds Fifteen Shillings Sterg [Sterling] And that upon the [...] day of [...] 1786 I delivered David Roberts Collector of the said Duties for the Burgh aforesaid an exact duplicate of the above Account ( as will appear from [...] ) duly examind and Compared with the foregoing which contained my Oath that Nottices were left with the Several persons before named or at their dwelling houses of the dates annexed to their respective names requiring them within fourteen days to give in a list of their Horses retained or employed by them from the Tenth day of Oct [October] 1784 to the fifth of April 1785 and that the said Account or Survey is made out from the lists returned to me, and from the best information I could procure of the Horses of those who neglected or refused to give in a list thereof in terms of the Nottices left with them as aforesaid William Greig Surveyor
