Ediinburgh 1st January 1789. I John Taitt Surveyor aforesaid, do Certify that upon
carefull examination of the foregoing several Rates & Duties, I find they amount in whole
to Three, Hundred & twenty seven pounds twelve Shillings & Sixpence and that upon
this day delivered to George Cranston Esqr Collector of said Duties, an exact duplicate
of the above Accompt, duly examined & compared with the foregoing, which Certified
that Notices were left with the Several Inhabitants, or at their dwelling houses on the
dates annexed to their respective names, that they were to be Charged with the
Sums hereby Certified to be due from them
