A Survey of the Rates and Duties on Female Servants arisen in the Burgh of Forfar for thtee quarters of one
year commencing the fifth day of July 1784 and ending the fifth day of April 1785 by William Greig Surveyor

2 Single Servants of unmarried persons & above the age of 21 years as above for 9 Months at 1/10½ [£0.1.10½] £0.3.9
16 Single Servants of Married persons for 9 Months at 1/10½ [£0.1.10½] £1.10

I William Greig Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon careful examination of the foregoing Duties I find they amount in
whole to One pound thirteen Shillings and Ninepence Sterling, and that upon the [blank] day of [blank] 1786 I delivered to David Roberts
Collector of the Cess and of the said duties for the Burgh aforesaid an exact duplicate of the above Account (as will appear from
[blank]) duly examined and Compared with the foregoing which contained my Oath that Nottices were left
with the Several persons before named or at their dwelling-houses of the dates Annexed to their respective names, requiring them
within 14 days to give in a list of their Servants retained or employed by them from the fifth day of July 1784 to the fifth day of April
1785, and that the said Account or Survey is made out from the Lists returned to me, and from the best information I could
procure of the Servants of those who neglected or refused to give in a list thereof in terms of the Nottices left with them as afore
