6 Survey of the Tax upon Dogs Wigtonshire contd. [continued.]

I David McMillan Surv.[Surveyor] aforesaid do hereby Certify that
upon careful examination of the foregoing several Rates &
Duties I find they amount in whole the sum of Twenty
pounds one shilling Sterling; and that upon the twentyninth
day of January Mviji [0ne thousand seven Hundred] and ninety eight yrs. [years] I delivered to Thomas Adair
Esq. Writer to the signet Collector of the said Duties for the Shire
aforesaid an exact Duplicate of the foregoing ,which contained my
oath that Requisitions and notices were delivered to or left for the
several foregoing Persons at their dwelling places and the
charges made out from their returns or my best information.
