E326/8/5/64 [Page] 64 I William Greig Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify, that, upon carefull examination of the foregiong duties I find they amounted in whole to Ninety-eight pounds Sterling, and that upon the twentysixth of January 1788 I delivered Alexander Garden Esqr [Esquire] Collector of the said duties for the Shire afore[said] an exact Duplicate of the Account on the preceeding page (as well appear from ---) duly examined and Compared with the foregoing, which contained my Oath that nottices [were] left with the several persons before named or at their dwelling-houses of the dates Annexed to [their] respective names requiring them within fourteen days to give in a list of their Carriages [retained? or ] employed by them from the fifth day of April 1786 to the fifth day of April 1787 and that [the] Account or Survey is made out from the lists returned to me, and from the best information [I could por] -cure of the Carriages of those who neglected or refused to give in a list of these in terms of the nottices left with them as aforesaid William Greig Surveyor
